Mixed Race, Mixed Feelings
I chose this article because I felt it tied in with myself in many ways. One way, is because I myself often feel like I am caught in between two worlds. Sometimes I feel that mixed raced people often get discriminated by people because they don't feel that my races mixed are meant to be. But that's just one person's opinion. This article helped me to find out that defending yourself and defending your race is just going to be apart of life for a mixed person. Also when defending yourself, your letting your true feeling show and come about. So not only are people "seeing" what you're doing but they are "hearing" what you are doing too. The saying "actions speak louder than words" really stuck out to me when I read this article because you can't only just speak how you feel, but showing and getting the point across to people that "I am this race and I am going to embrace it" is the type of attitude you need to have as a mixed person. Now my question for all of you is... If you were mixed, and someone tries to tell you that you're a certain race and you know what you truly are, what would you do? And how would you feel?
