I chose this picture because I felt it most represented my topic because the name of this picture was “diversity”. And diversity plays a big role with my topic. Diversity means- a range of different things. And within my topic, mixed people and children can rank from anywhere between just two races, or maybe even five or six races. It all just depends on what race your parents are too. Also within my topic, I am asking, “Do mixed raced people and children necessarily have to take the race of their father when filling out school papers or job applications?” and this picture is explaining and showing that being mixed is okay, and I feel it means that any time you just want to break down because you don’t truly know what ethnicity you would classify as, it’s important to still stay strong and just work through it. Maybe one day, someone will make a change and have a box to check for “us” too.. And not just consider us as “other”.
